2019 Holiday Gift Guide

The holidays are here! If you’re looking for gift ideas, look no further – my 2019 gift guide has arrived! I love curating this list because it’s full of things that I already love and use, or would be totally stoked to find under the tree. I have all of your bases covered – you’ll find gifts for the food-obsessed, the homebodies, the busy moms, and the eco-conscious (or perhaps all of the above, if you’re like me!). Happy shopping, and merry everything!

Hudson Naturals – I recently discovered this line of small batch personal care products from Hudson Valley, NY that happen to be cruelty free, sustainable, and free of parabens, synthetic fragrances and other nasties. I have chronically dry hands in the winter and the luxuriously creamy body butter has been nothing short of a life saver for me. Oh, and everything smells incredible and the packaging is pretty too.

Madein Saucepan – One of the biggest workhorses in my kitchen is my new Madein saucepan – I have the 2 QT size, which is perfect for reheating soups, making oatmeal, and warming up matcha lattes. My favorite things about it? It’s made in America, is dishwasher and oven safe, and is 5-ply metal (which translates into better heat distribution and even cooking).

Brahms Mount Monhegan Cotton Throw – Several summers ago, I spotted this beautiful, unbelievably plush herringbone throw at a shop in Maine. Since then, I’ve been coveting a Brahms Mount blanket and finally bit the bullet this year and ordered one. After a long day of running around town with my girls, wrapping myself up in this throw at the end of the day is basically heaven. This particular style is 100% USA cotton, comes in a rainbow of colors, and is made in Maine on an antique loom.

Alternative Apparel Classic Eco-Fleece Sweatpants – As someone who looks to spend a maximum number of hours per day in sweatpants, I have done my research on the best pair out there. Alternative Apparel not only fits the bill in terms of sheer comfort, but also earns bonus points for being an eco-friendly company that employs sustainable manufacturing and packaging processes.

I Can Cook Vegan – I’m an avid cookbook collector and there are a few select authors that I will hit the “pre-order” button on Amazon for faster than you can say “But Lauren, you have enough cookbooks!”.  One such author is Isa Chandra Moskowitz and her newest book I Can Cook Vegan is worth the space on your shelf, not only because the recipes all look amazing, but also because they’re so darn approachable – perfect for cooks of all levels, new vegans, experienced vegans, and people who just enjoy eating vegan food occasionally.

Berkey Filter – A few family members of mine recently invested in Berkey Filters and I eventually decided to bite the bullet and order one, too. I’m so glad I did!  Now that I have children especially, I feel much better knowing that our drinking water doesn’t contain chlorine, chemicals, pesticides, heavy metals, or bacterial contaminants. Berkey Filters are amazing quality and provide the cleanest tasting water I’ve ever had.

Palmpress Collapsible Coffee Press – For anyone who can’t live without a good cup of a coffee, this genius little device ensures quality joe even when you’re away from home, whether it be in a hotel room or at the office. I think this would be the perfect teacher gift, or White Elephant gift exchange contribution!

MiiR Insulated Growler – Craft beer lovers will love this insulated growler – perfect for toting ice cold beer straight from the brewery to the park or beach or anywhere, really.  It also keeps hot things hot, so fill it up with coffee for brunch al fresco, too!

Adidas Ultraboost 19 Sneakers – I’m not one to spend a lot of money on sneakers, but my husband surprised me with these last year and I have been living in them ever since!  They are, without a doubt, the most comfortable sneakers I’ve ever owned. I spend a ton of time on my feet so the comfort and support they provide is well worth the price tag.

Williams Sonoma Olivewood Salad Bowl – This gorgeous Italian Olivewood bowl can elevate a standard green salad to something special.  It’s beautiful, classic, useful and would go in any style kitchen – the perfect gift for the cook or entertainer in your life!

The High Fiber Hand Printed Kitchen Towels – I’ve been admiring these adorable hand printed kitchen towels for so long, and think they would make the perfect hostess gift! They come in lots of colors and prints so there’s something for everyone.

Silpat Nonstick Silicone Baking Mat – I use my Silpat baking mat every day and consider it to be a kitchen essential. It’s a reusable nonstick baking mat that’s perfect for baking cookies or roasting vegetables and tofu (it’s oven safe to 482 degrees!). Silpat is a fantastic low-waste alternative to parchment paper, eliminates the need for extra oils and nonstick sprays, and washes up easily with just soap and water.
